No matter how many answers you get it is an important part of the Nazareth Blue Eagle Marching Band family. This began with Yukon Cornelius and has morphed into NAZARETH. This word is much more than a word…it is a battle cry as our band enters the field for competition, it is the response from the bleachers, it is used instead of sincerely in closing emails and it is also used in the name of our refreshment stand “Wahoo Bistro”.
This is how WAHOO is experienced:
All families are encouraged to attend competitions and sit in the same area AND of course show our pride by wearing our Nazareth Blue clothing. This makes it easier for the band to see us and a close group makes our WAHOO a lot louder.
This is a place/time that parents get to be a little crazy in showing our kids how much we support them and the marching band. Since the bands leave the competitions later than the spectators, we have time to set up this WAHOO Island. We gather by the flag pole in the front lot with signs, score board, cow bells, horns, noise makers and wait for the arrival of the buses. As each bus pulls into the lot towards the auditorium doors we scream and cheer our kids on.
Since the buses pull into this lot, please do not park along the curb within this lot.
This is the refreshment stand that is run by the band parent organization. One of the specialties is an order of Wahoo Fries… when an order is placed the people working the stand will yell ‘Nazareth on three…one…two…three…’ ‘WAHOO”
WAHOO is also used in written communication as either a greeting, closing or point of importance.
WAHOO!!!!!
